SOLD: 1938 Rolls Royce Phantom III Limousine
Car was parked in 1965 with bad clutch, steering and trans jammed in reverse gate. New brakes had been dealer installed.
Acquired November 08 and proceeded to spend 8 months before even starting. Rebuilt steering box, clutch, new engine and trans mounts, fixed bijur system, rebuilt bijur pump, new front interior, new tyres. Since then, rebuilt engine, modern filters, modern pistons, refaced tappets and reground camshaft. Rewired chassis, rebuilt generator and starter.
As well all normal maintenance is performed to daily driver standards as the car is driven quite often – 2000 miles last year, nearly 1000 miles this year so far. Now showing 29,700 miles.
Car is all-original save front interior and mechanical maintenance. Original paint except as noted in George Hamilton’s autobiography.
Was in a few movies including “Lover Come Back” with Doris Day and Tony Randall – copy available.
