FOR SALE: a 1948 Ford F47 truck

This is a Canadian truck. F-47 is basically the same truck as an F-1 built in the U.S.A. It means 4,700 lbs gross vehicle weight, and was a way to differentiate Canadian from U.S. trucks.

A COMPLETE restoration has just been finished, and the truck is a pleasure to drive. EVERYTHING is either new or rebuilt, with no worn out parts utilized. A 12 volt conversion, with all new wiring and new fuse box and relay panel, ensures solid electrical operation. The cab has had sound deadening materials applied, so it is a quiet, rattle free drive. The sound from the dual exhaust and old school mufflers is not loud enough to be a bother at all, but still has a very good sound. Steering is back to as it was new, and surprisingly good for a solid front axle. Braking is better than new, with power disc/drum.

An all steel body, w/NOS hood, NOS doors, NOS LR fender, NOS grille header, new box, tailgate running boards, front lower fenders. Flawless paint, in high gloss original green with matte black fenders and running boards, for a mild hot rod look. A completely rebuilt flathead, includes EAB heads, .060 over pistons, adjustable lifters, hardened valve seats, headers, and MSD 12v ignition. Reds headers, Smithy’s mufflers. The original 3 speed has been fully rebuilt, with Lincoln Zephyr gears for a better first and second gear. ALL new steering, suspension, power disc/drum. All new 12v wiring. ALL new interior. New tires on new rims.

All of the gauges have been restored. The ammeter has purposely been not connected, as they weren’t too helpful. A stealth voltmeter has been added that shuts off when the key is off, and blends so as not to deter from the originality of the interior.

The radio is a rare option, unique to 1948-1950 trucks only. It has been cosmetically restored, however still retains its 6 volt innards. It is possible to have the radio converted to 12v if desired.
