FOR SALE: 1950 MORRIS MINOR CONVERTIBLE ALTA/DARRING. Morris Minor Convertible. The car had only one owner, has endured only one Canadian winter (1951 or 52) and has no rust whatsoever.
The owner kept a log of everything including gas and oil changes for the first years he had it and then it became a hobby. He modified the body slightly, the engine dramatically and kept it in warm storage with only a limited amount of fair weather use for the next 50 years. It is fitted with period performance equipment, an Alta cylinder head with dual carbs and four branch Darrington exhaust all of which was completed before 1957. There is a banker’s box of records,including the original bill of sale and correspondence with Alta and Derrington in the UK. There are only 17 Alta heads still running in the world.
The engine has been rebuilt completely and the paint has been refreshed. A set of Bridgestone radial tires has been put on to replace the bias ply originals. One original tire remains however from 1950. It is on the spare, it still holds air and would serve as a take-me-home if needed.
